What is counselling & psychotherapy?
Counselling and psychotherapy are largely interchangeable terms that describe the process of talking therapy. It is a supportive and exploratory process that will help you to understand your problems and limitations as well as your strengths and uniqueness which may not be immediately apparent to you.
How would I benefit from a session?
When you are able to consider your difficulties and life more clearly you are naturally able to make freer and positive choices for a more fulfilled life. You will become more comfortable in who you are and what you would like to do with your life. When you start to identify and recognise your strengths you feel more at home in yourself and you have renewed energy to perceive those difficulties in a different light.
Why do people choose counselling & psychotherapy?
You choose counselling for a variety of reasons including depression, bereavement, anxiety, illness, work problems, addiction, relationship difficulties and identity issues. One of the main reasons that people like counselling is that they can speak freely about anything at all without judgement. Many people don’t have an impartial person in their lives with whom they can share their thoughts, deepest worries and emotions and therapy allows clients to do that. Offloading can be very powerful and as a beneficial by-product to reducing stress it often improves relationships and self-awareness which can be key to happier living.
